Vancouver Fashion Week 2014

Vancouver Fashion Week is once again returning to the catwalk and gearing up for its biggest season to date. They are delighted to inform everyone that they have now extended their program to seven days from the usual six (March 18th to 24th) and the event will take place at the Chinese Cultural Centre in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown. Like always, Vancouver Fashion Week stays true to its mandate, which is to highlight emerging and award- winning talent from around the world.

This season’s designer lineup boasts talent hailing from a different array of backgrounds. Vancouver Fashion Week has confirmed designers coming from but not limited to Brazil, Japan, Portugal, Denmark, Peru, U.K., Australia and Zanzibar.
To give you a preview, VFW spotlight designer profiles include:

Martins Paulo from Brazil
His use of colours, prints and structured modeling are prominent in his creations along with cultural and artistic references. Having debuted his collection at Brazilian Fashion Week, Paulo was named as one of the upcoming talents in Brazilian fashion by critics and was the winner of the Premio Rio Moda Hype award.

Gabriel Lage from Argentina
Gabriel launched his career in 1990 using Haute Couture as the foundation of his work. His work showed close attention to detail and a predominant European style, inherited by his father and grandfather.

Susana Bettencourt from Portugal
Her designs, which are synonymous with intricate knitwear, bold embellishment and accessories, have won notable high profile fans including Radio 1xtra, DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford, and Lady Gaga.

L’Officiel Ukraine, VFW’s exclusive Ukrainian media partner, will also be present and covering the action on the runway. As an edition of the L’Officiel family, L’Officiel Ukraine features opulent topics such as personalities, fashion, art, and lifestyle while elevating the image of Ukraine on an international stage.
